Sam attending the Cannes Film Festival in France, 2018
Sam Jokisch moved to Nashville, Tennessee from her hometown of Rolla, Missouri in 2011, where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and New Media and a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Creative Media from Lipscomb University. She then hit the road for Hollywood, and currently resides and creates near Los Angeles as a freelance television and feature writer specializing in fantasy/sci-fi, horror, and comedy.
Passionate, intense, and daring, Jokisch’s scripts find influences in the aesthetics and styles of cult favorites like Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Being Human (US), combined with the grit and suspense of works like Gotham, Sherlock, and Dexter.
An extraordinary world-builder, Jokisch is acknowledged for vast and immersive experiences beyond an audience’s imagination tied with broad, three-dimensional characters bearing heavy internal struggles and motives. She is also known for quick retorts and a sharp wit both on and off the page.
